The second year characterized by the COVID-19 pandemic was for Simaco full of news and growth on various fronts, first and foremost the achievement of the historical turnover for the company of € 8 million. The achievement of this important milestone was possible thanks to the effort of all departments, in a historical period where the shortage of components, the continuous rise in the prices of raw materials, energy, and the exit from a world pandemic that has upset most of the systems are the masters.
As reported in an article published in Il Sole 24 Ore, the Lodi area, in which Simaco has been rooted since his birth, reacted with determination to the crisis and better than the Lombard average, despite being the first province to suffer the restrictions in February 2020. (read the article)
The company philosophy that allows us to achieve important results every year is to have personnel involved and stimulated to propose, able to express their talent and work as a team in an atmosphere of harmony. A constantly growing team that in 2021 saw the entry into the company of 4 new figures: 3 in the assembly departments and 1 in support of the sales office. The new resources are mostly women, a choice that aligns with the company philosophy.
Products
Important synergies with historical customers have made it possible to achieve high production level; with the KN37 product (now in its 3rd generation) Simaco is once again confirmed as the European leader in the market of cooling units for the welding sector, with 2-digit annual growth rates since 2017. The new MD version with magnetic drive has found wide use where direct control of the liquids used by end users is not possible, reducing maintenance, downtime and leakage to zero.
New markets and applications for the stainless steel magnetic drive MD-CX range made it possible in 2021 to increase the numbers of the highest range products for Simaco. The new CT (Cryogenics Temperature) version dedicated to plants that use fully fluorinated liquids at temperatures below 0 °C (down to -120 °C) immediately found application in the semiconductor production sector.
The Ecodesign Directive has imposed new efficiency levels for both single-phase and three-phase electric motors from the 01st of July 2021. Simaco has already adjusted the range of motors involved in the update respecting the deadline, the tests have shown that most of the three-phase motors from 0.12 to 0.75 kW produced by Simaco are already in the IE3 class. This milestone is very important because it represents an excellent result that the legislation does not include even after 5 years.
The introduction of PMSM permanent magnet synchronous motors, currently applied only to the MD-CX range, is leading Simaco electric pumps towards a new era of energy efficiency and versatility of use.
The internal research and development team has intensified work on new products, which will show by the end of 2022, also in the fairs that will resume in presence. Important investments have been made to develop 2 new product ranges dedicated to the welding, e-mobility and industry sectors.
The first appointment to discover some of the news will be MCE 2022 Mostra Convegno Expocomfort to be held in Milan from 28 June to 01 July 2022.
KATARI
The KATARI UV-C LED device, created in 2020 to fight the pandemic caused by SarS COV-2, is now finding use in various sectors where it is necessary to operate a bactericidal and virucidal action in a simple, ecological and safe way. 2021 saw the beginning of the consolidation of sales thanks to the sales network mainly active on the national territory, with specialized dealers and installers.
Thanks to the continuous evolution of laboratory research and the continuous development of UV-C LEDs, it has been possible to recalibrate KATARI’s sanitation times, which have been reduced by up to 1/5 compared to the product launch at the end of 2020. To sanitize a room of 36sqm (6x6m) to 99,9% 1h: 29min in now sufficient.
Simaco is looking forward to 2022, the year in which it will celebrate 60 years of activity, with an eye to the future towards horizons of human, production and sustainability excellence.
