THE RANGE OF INSULATING SHELLS HAS BEEN EXPANDED

Following the first introduction in April 2021 of these accessories for the electric pump models with MEC 56 and MEC 63 motor sizes, SIMACO is expanding the range of insulating shells.

4 new black versions are now available that adapt to most of the models and sizes in the catalogue. Articles have been developed for the peripheral series with mechanical seal and magnetic drive. For the latter, the shells adapt both to the versions with threaded ports and to the versions with SAE unified counterflanges.

Advantages of SIMACO insulating shells

The insulating shells are supplied upon request with the electric pumps, so that they can be assembled before connection to the hydraulic system. The holes in correspondence with the ports are reduced in size so that the customer can cut them and adapt them to the type of fittings present on the pipes. The advantage of the thermoformed shells developed by SIMACO is their perfect adaptability to the shape of the product, which saves operations and time during the assembly phase (time saving fino al 90%). The shape follows the pump unit perfectly, avoiding the need to use adhesive insulating strips, which are not easily removable and which prevent some maintenance operations on the systems.

Why insulate a pump?

The use of the shell is recommended in those cases where:
There are high thermal differences between the ambient temperature and the temperature of the fluid circulating in the system;
It is important to keep the temperature of the fluid circulating in the system as constant as possible;
It is necessary to reduce or inhibit the condensation that forms on the pump unit;
It is necessary and/or useful to reduce the noise level of the pump for applications in laboratory environments or wherever noise reduction is required;
It is necessary to increase human safety by shielding the components that reach higher temperatures from contact, even accidental.
